AI Engineer | Startup

Build from the ground up. Own the architecture. Shape what comes next. We’re looking for an exceptional AI Engineer to join a small, high-caliber R&D team at an ambitious early-stage startup building its core platform from the ground up. This is an opportunity for an engineer who wants more than a well-defined ticket queue. You’ll work directly with the R&D Lead, take ownership of critical parts of the product, influence architectural decisions, and turn complex ideas into scalable, production-ready solutions. You’ll join a team of five engineers as its sixth member, with significant room to influence the technology, engineering culture, and direction of the product. The team values strong engineering fundamentals, product thinking, and the ability to move fast without compromising on quality. What you’ll do Own end-to-end development: Design, build, and ship features across the stack, from user-facing experiences to backend services and integrations. Shape the architecture: Make meaningful decisions around system design, scalability, performance, and maintainability. Build AI-powered products: Develop real AI capabilities, including agent-based workflows, intelligent applications, and integrations with modern AI models. Work across the stack: Build backend services and APIs while contributing to frontend experiences and product flows. Drive ideas into production: Take ownership from early design and technical exploration through implementation, deployment, and ongoing improvement. Work close to the product: Collaborate directly with leadership and product stakeholders to turn real-world problems into impactful solutions. Raise the engineering bar: Bring strong technical judgment, challenge assumptions, and help shape the team's engineering practices. What we’re looking for 5+ years of professional software development experience, including at least one professional role outside military service. Strong full-stack engineering capabilities and a genuine generalist mindset. Excellent programming skills in Python, JavaScript, and/or TypeScript , with experience across backend and frontend development. Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications, agents, or agentic workflows — beyond simply using AI coding assistants. Strong understanding of system design, software architecture, APIs, integrations, and distributed systems. Excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach, and fluent Hebrew. You’ll stand out if you have A background in an exceptional engineering team or a strong technology company. Outstanding academic achievements from a leading university or an interdisciplinary academic program. Experience in an elite military technology unit or a track record of entrepreneurial projects. Experience with data science, machine learning, or building AI systems beyond API integrations. A strong product mindset and the ability to operate with autonomy in a fast-moving startup environment.
