Automation technical lead

We are seeking a QA Automation Tech Lead to drive our end-to-end testing architecture and quality engineering strategy. In this hands-on technical leadership role, you will own the full automation stack—from framework design across API, UI, and E2E layers to deep CI/CD pipeline integration. Working closely with Core R&D and Product teams, you will champion shift-left testing, mentor automation engineers, and integrate cutting-edge AI/agentic testing workflows. Core Responsibilities Framework Architecture: Design, build, and scale reusable automation frameworks, establishing core engineering patterns, technical standards, and shared infrastructure. Multi-Layer Test Strategy: Architect automation strategies across API, microservices, UI, and E2E flows, including mocking/sandbox environments for external third-party payment providers. Suite Health & Reliability: Own the overall stability of our test ecosystem—reducing flakiness, optimizing execution times, and establishing health tracking metrics (coverage, pass rates, execution trends). CI/CD Integration: Embed and optimize continuous testing workflows within our CI/CD pipelines ( GitHub Actions / Jenkins ) for instant developer feedback loops. Shift-Left Engineering: Advocate for testability in design and system architecture reviews, surfacing edge cases and risk early in the development lifecycle. Technical Mentorship: Drive code review standards for the test codebase, mentor automation engineers, and elevate engineering standards across R&D. What You’ll Bring 5+ years of hands-on experience in test automation, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership or framework architect role – Mandatory . Core Tech Stack: Deep expertise in TypeScript and Playwright – Mandatory . Framework Design: Demonstrated track record of building complex automation frameworks from scratch or leading major architectural re-engineering efforts – Mandatory . System Complexity: Experience automating multi-tenant, highly configurable platforms with strict data isolation standards. API & Mocking Depth: Strong experience in API-level testing, service stubbing, and external integrations. CI/CD Automation: Hands-on experience integrating and managing automated test executions within CI/CD platforms ( GitHub Actions, Jenkins ). AI & Agentic Workflows: Practical experience incorporating AI-assisted tooling or agentic workflows into automation practices.
