QA Automation Lead

QA Automation Team Lead | GenAI & Test Automation A leading organization in Central Israel is looking for an experienced QA Automation Team Lead to lead its automation and software quality initiatives, manage a professional team, and drive the adoption of innovative automation solutions and Generative AI technologies. This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining team management, automation development, coding, design reviews, and code reviews with the implementation of AI-powered solutions across software development and testing processes. You'll work closely with development, architecture, DevOps, and product teams to improve automation coverage, testing efficiency, and overall software quality. What You'll Do Lead and manage a team of automation developers and manual QA testers Recruit, mentor, coach, and support the professional development of team members Define automation strategies, work plans, and quality objectives Lead test automation initiatives throughout the software development lifecycle Remain hands-on in automation development and coding Conduct design reviews and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards Collaborate with software development, architecture, DevOps, and product teams Lead the adoption and implementation of Generative AI solutions in testing and automation workflows Identify opportunities to improve software quality through AI and implement practical solutions Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and technical excellence Monitor quality metrics, automation coverage, and testing efficiency What We're Looking For At least 3 years of experience managing QA Automation and Software Testing teams Experience managing both automation developers and manual QA testers Experience recruiting, mentoring, and developing technical team members At least 6 years of hands-on experience in test automation development Strong programming experience in Java, Python, TypeScript, and/or JavaScript Extensive experience in API test automation and working with REST APIs Experience working with Microservices architectures Experience with CI/CD processes and pipelines Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or Bitbucket Strong coding, code review, and technical design review capabilities Hands-on experience using Generative AI tools Experience integrating AI tools into software development or test automation processes Familiarity with AI Agents and Agentic Workflows Ability to lead technical initiatives and collaborate across multiple engineering teams Advantages Experience in large enterprise, financial services, or banking environments Experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS Experience with OpenShift Experience with Kubernetes Experience leading automation initiatives in Agile development environments Central Israel | Full-time | Hands-on Technical Leadership Role
