Senior Technical Project Manager

Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to join our R&D organization and lead complex, large-scale technical projects across multiple teams and workstreams. This role combines strong project management capabilities with a solid technical background and hands-on expertise in Jira administration, configuration, and project management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving execution, improving project visibility, managing cross-team dependencies, and ensuring predictable delivery in a dynamic, fast-paced technology environment. We are looking for someone who understands both the technical aspects of software development and the operational side of managing complex engineering projects, with the ability to bring structure, transparency, and efficiency to the entire R&D organization. Key Responsibilities End-to-End Project Management: Lead complex technical projects from planning and initiation through execution, delivery, and release, ensuring alignment with business objectives and R&D priorities. Jira Ownership & Management: Take ownership of Jira as a core project management tool, including structuring projects across multiple boards and teams, configuring workflows, managing issue hierarchies, defining standards, and maintaining consistent processes across the organization. Project Planning & Execution: Build and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and roadmaps, ensuring clear ownership and accountability across all workstreams. Cross-Team Coordination: Drive collaboration between R&D, Software Engineering, QA, DevOps, Product, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment, resolve blockers, and maintain delivery momentum. Dependency & Risk Management: Identify and proactively manage cross-team dependencies, technical risks, resource constraints, and potential delivery bottlenecks. Jira Reporting & Visibility: Develop and maintain Jira dashboards, reports, filters, and cross-project tracking mechanisms to provide real-time visibility into project progress, team capacity, risks, and delivery status. Agile Project Management: Support and improve Agile practices, including Scrum and Kanban, sprint planning, backlog management, progress tracking, and continuous process improvement. Technical Coordination: Work closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements, software development lifecycles, system integrations, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and deployment processes. Process Optimization: Establish and continuously improve project management methodologies, Jira standards, reporting practices, and operational workflows to increase efficiency and predictability. Stakeholder Management: Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and delivery forecasts clearly to technical leadership and business stakeholders. Requirements 8+ years of experience in project management within technology, R&D, or software development environments. Advanced, hands-on Jira expertise , including managing complex projects across multiple boards, teams, and workstreams. Proven ability to structure, configure, and optimize Jira to support large-scale project management, cross-team coordination, and organizational reporting. Strong understanding of Jira workflows, issue types, filters, dashboards, reports, permissions, and project hierarchies. Strong technical background and a solid understanding of software development lifecycles, system integrations, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and deployment processes. Proven experience managing project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, budgets, and resources. Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, Scrum, and Kanban, with practical experience working with software engineering teams. Experience coordinating multiple cross-functional teams, including Development, QA, DevOps, Product, and other technical stakeholders. Experience building meaningful dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights into project health, progress, risks, and delivery performance. Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment. Proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to drive accountability and execution without direct authority over all involved teams. Nice to Have Experience with Jira Advanced Roadmaps. Experience with Confluence and broader Atlassian tools. PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification. Experience managing enterprise-scale R&D projects involving multiple engineering teams, systems, and technical dependencies. Experience improving project management processes and implementing Jira best practices across an organization.
