Job Summary We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead and mentor the team building the centralized multi-agent platform for Idira core services. In this role, you will combine hands-on technical leadership with rigorous execution to ensure the high-quality delivery of a scalable, robust AI platform. You will drive development processes, maintain clear alignment with stakeholders, and support the team through the full lifecycle of complex agent development—from architectural design to customer-facing production deployment and continuous optimization. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and grow the engineering team responsible for Idira’s centralized multi-agent platform; foster a collaborative, high-performance environment. Own team execution: drive sprint planning, prioritize roadmaps, manage delivery commitments, and ensure reliable production support. Oversee the end-to-end development of the multi-agent ecosystem: system architecture, implementation, seamless integration, deployment, and monitoring. Maintain a clear capability matrix and roadmap for the core platform, managing dependencies across multiple autonomous agents and API integrations. Communicate progress, risks, and status updates clearly to product, executive management, and cross-functional stakeholders. Provide hands-on technical leadership: conduct code reviews, guide scalable architectural decisions, and uphold stringent engineering best practices for production-grade AI. Qualifications At least 4 years of engineering leadership experience, including mentoring developers, guiding execution, and managing complex deliverables. Substantial, proven experience developing, orchestrating, and deploying customer-facing Generative AI and agentic solutions to production. Strong background in foundational software engineering, coupled with significant, practical expertise leveraging LLMs and modern multi-agent architectures. Track record of shipping highly reliable platform projects and supporting production systems in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and communication skills; capable of managing multiple parallel work streams and maintaining visibility across projects. Experience with cloud environments, modern development practices (CI/CD), and AI-based development lifecycle. BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with modern multi-agent orchestration frameworks (or building custom agent runtimes from scratch). Practical experience with LLM-powered systems’ observability, automated evaluation frameworks, and guardrails (e.g., mitigating hallucinations, prompt injection, and latency in customer-facing flows). Proven track record leading high-velocity, cutting-edge engineering teams within a large, distributed global enterprise Our Commitment We’re trailblazers that dream big, take risks, and challenge cybersecurity’s status quo. It’s simple: we can’t accomplish our mission without diverse teams innovating, together. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for all qualified individuals with a disability. If you require assistance or accommodation due to a disability or special need, please contact us at accommodations@paloaltonetworks.com . Palo Alto Networks is an equal opportunity employer.
