Role Description The Junior Software Engineer will contribute to the development and maintenance of software components that power Billie and its integration with robotic and building systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing features, fixing bugs, writing clean and testable code, and collaborating with senior engineers on design and architecture decisions. The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable communication between robots, cloud services, and user interfaces, as well as participating in code reviews and improving development workflows. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Tel Aviv-Yafo, requiring regular in-person collaboration and hands-on work with hardware and software in live environments. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field from a recognized institution, or equivalent hands-on experience—including relevant technical service in Unit 8200 or Unit 81. Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles. Proficiency in Python and TypeScript, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, production-quality code. Experience developing back-end systems, including APIs, services, and database-driven applications. Working knowledge of front-end development and a solid understanding of client-server communication. Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an on-site team environment. Familiarity with Git and modern software development workflows. Preferred Qualifications Experience with robotics, embedded systems, or real-time systems. Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems.
