Senior DevOps Engineer (Backend Oriented)

The Impact You’ll Make As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Conntour, you'll be one of the first engineers shaping the foundation of our platform. You'll design, build, and own the infrastructure that runs real-time video and AI-driven workflows in high-stakes environments, mostly on-premises at customer sites, and also in the cloud. Your work will directly shape our infrastructure, deployment strategy, reliability, and engineering standards from the ground up. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves owning infrastructure end to end, automating everything, and writing solid backend code when the system needs it. What You’ll Do * Design, build, and own production infrastructure for real-time, mission-critical systems. * Design on-premises deployments at customer sites, including installation, upgrades, remote management, and recovery. * Build and maintain Dockerized services and multi-container deployments with Docker Compose. * Build and manage cloud infrastructure for our hosted environments. * Own CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and deployment strategy, from commit to customer site. * Build observability across the stack: metrics, logging, alerting, and on-call practices. * Manage GPU-based workloads and make sure video and AI inference pipelines run reliably under real hardware limits. * Own infrastructure-as-code, secrets management, networking, and security hardening. * Contribute to backend services and APIs, and improve performance in data processing, database access, and real-time event handling. * Work closely with backend, ML, and product teams to make systems easy to deploy, operate, and scale. * Set engineering standards around reliability, deployment, observability, security, and operational excellence. * Contribute to the technical roadmap of a platform built to operate in demanding, real-world environments. Who You Are * 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, platform, or infrastructure engineering, with real backend development experience. * Deep hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose in production. * Hands-on experience deploying and operating systems on-premises, on physical servers. * Experienced with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure). * Experienced with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar). * Strong understanding of Linux, networking, and system-level troubleshooting. * Experienced with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Loki. * Able to write production-quality backend code, preferably in Python. * Experienced with PostgreSQL in production, including backups, replication, upgrades, and performance tuning. * Strong understanding of system design, reliability, scalability, and security. * Able to move fast while keeping high standards for stability, security, and maintainability. * Product-minded, proactive, accountable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment. * Passionate about building technology with real-world consequences. * Computer science or equivalent degree Bonus Points For * Having built an on-premises environment from scratch, including hardware setup, networking, deployment, and ongoing operations. * Experience with air-gapped or offline deployments and remote management of customer sites. * Experience with edge devices or fleet management (for example NVIDIA Jetson). * Experience with GPU-based workloads, inference pipelines, or NVIDIA DeepStream. * Experience with real-time video systems, streaming pipelines, or distributed camera networks. * Strong Python experience, especially with FastAPI or similar backend frameworks. * Experience with ML infrastructure, LLMs, vector databases, or AI agents. * Experience designing systems that operate under strict latency, bandwidth, or hardware constraints. * Background in defense-tech, security, robotics, autonomous systems, or physical-world AI. * Prior startup experience, especially in early-stage or 0→1 environments.
